KYC means handing over my ID, a selfie, and a proof of address. I'm not doing that for a site I haven't checked out first, so here's roughly how I screen one before I commit.
I play purely on Gold Coins for a few days first. No money in, no docs uploaded. I'm watching how the games actually behave and whether the daily free SC offers are real or just dangled.
Then I go read the redemption terms. The whole thing, not the headline. Minimums, how long they say payouts take, whether there's any playthrough on Sweeps Coins before you can redeem. If that's vague or hidden, that's my answer.
Last thing, I search for other Texans who've actually been paid by them, not influencer fluff.
What's on your checklist before you finish verification? Curious what I'm missing. And the usual, only risk what you'd spend on a night out anyway.

This is the right instinct and most people do the exact opposite, upload everything then read terms after.
The one I'd add: check whether the company behind it is actually findable. A real address, a parent company, a support channel that answers. The sweeps model already isn't regulated like a real-money state, so the operator's own reputation is basically all the protection you've got. If I can't even tell who runs it, I'm not sending my driver's license.

Honestly I'm lazier than this but you've got me reconsidering.
My one rule is small first redemption. I don't care if it's slow, I redeem the minimum the first time just to prove the rail works end to end before I ever build up a real balance on there. Cost me nothing to learn a site is legit or not. Laid back coast living, no rush.
